“MTI made it possible for me to travel and pursue music while also allowing me to get my massage license. Now I am able to pursue both of my passions with my table and PA system living in my car. I am still traveling and bringing comfort and relaxation through massage and music.”

“Michael was an incredible teacher. He truly wanted to see each of us succeed and took time to work with each of us individually to make sure that we were really understanding the methods of massage therapy.”

Currently, I am studying CranioSacral Therapy. Being an LMT has opened doors for me as a birth and death doula as well.”

Letter from Ryan O’Neill, a student based in Bozeman, MT

Graduated MTI 2026

As I looked all around the mid/mountain west for education in massage therapy, from Minnesota to Utah, I was looking for something very specific. An affordable, practical trade school. I felt that the schools in Bozeman were outrageously priced, and the programs offered training in modalities that I had relatively little interest in learning- especially when it added onto my tuition. Even from the website formatting- the simple, professional website and school marketing, I knew MTI was a big candidate. As I connected with Mike, things rapidly developed in a positive manner. Upon expressing my delicate financial situation and my previous studies in topics such as anatomy and physiology, I was offered a tuition discount. Having my previous accomplishments recognized was a huge milestone in my decision to attend MTI. On top of this, the opportunity to stay at the school on the weekends of in person training made the commute from Bozeman feel more achievable. All of these elements reflect the practical, honest mannerism of the school. MTI is the practical, affordable trade school I was looking for. With the online curriculum and intensive in person training, it is extremely practical for people from a variety of backgrounds to be successful.

I believe there are many strengths to the program offered at MTI. One of the greatest strengths is the nature of the intensive hands-on training. At MTI, there is hands on training from day one. I will never forget the moment we started draping techniques on the first weekend- the room went silent, there were jaws on the floor, we did not believe we were ready. Compared to the first day, we all graduated as changed people. We developed theory, technique, confidence, and intrapersonal skills. The online aspect allows students to travel far and wide from the surrounding areas to receive hands on training, while honing their knowledge and theory at their own pace in the comfort of their own home. This can be difficult for some, and it requires a serious attitude and some degree of discipline. I would not have been able to attend MTI without the online curriculum. The network available through MTI is another huge strength of this program. Students are connected with people from the state board, business owners around Montana, and many skilled therapists and instructors. MTI allows almost every student to graduate with one or two options for a smooth transition into a career. MTI also gives students the opportunity to explore a variety of different massage techniques at an introductory level. The techniques taught are all based on the essential practices of the trade-manual therapy techniques that have been proven to benefit specific populations.

All factors considered, I do believe the MTI is the best option for students in the state of Montana. With its affordability, practicality, and scientific approach- it is a fantastic opportunity for anyone interested in learning massage therapy. Mikes compassionate leadership allows for students to make mistakes, ask questions, and learn through experience.
