Course Description
Kinesiology, also known as human kinetics, is the scientific study of human movement. Kinesiology addresses physiological, mechanical, and psychological mechanisms. Since the massage therapist spends more time than almost any other medical practitioner searching through and working the soft tissues of the body, this subject matter is given emphasis. This course will give the massage therapist the ability to palpate the tissues and assess dysfunction or injury. The scholastic portion of the class includes memorization of origin, insertion, action and innervation of many muscles while the hands-on portion enables the student to palpate the tissues in the living body.
